File # 2017

RCMP officers working near the Elephant Hill fire area earlier this week took charge of a lost dog, and eventually reunited the old guy with his family.

On Monday August 7, 2017, RCMP officers manning check points and roving patrols on Hwy 99 near Pavilion Lake located a tired and worn out dog that was seen wandering around on the highway.

The friendly golden lab gladly accepted a ride and was taken back to the Clinton RCMP Detachment, where the old guy seemed quite content to take a load off and rest up while arrangements with the SPCA could be made to house the dog until the owners were located.

RCMP officers working the area spread the word around the communities and before too long by word of mouth, the dog’s family got wind of the great news and retrieved their family member.

He was none worse for wear, after a night of food, water, scritchy scratches and cuddles.
