This afternoon at 2PM, The Cariboo Regional District announced that the Evacuation Order for the North End of Lac La Hache and District of 100 Mile House boundary, had been downgraded to an Evacuation Alert. Evacuation Orders remain in place for all other areas.

For your own safety, we ask you stay out of evacuated areas until you are notified that it is safe to return.

If you are returning to 100 Mile House from the north (ie. Prince George), you will be required to return via Valemount. Highway 97 south remains closed at Macalister. Evacuation Orders remain in place for Williams Lake and surrounding areas, as such no access will be granted into the area.

Residents returning from the south (ie. Kamloops) may return direct via Highway 97, or take an alternate route via Highway 5 to Highway 24 into 100 Mile House. Highway 97 north and all access roads remain closed north of 150 Mile House, as Williams Lake remains under Evacuation Order.
Be prepared for significant delays on travel routes.

RCMP are being supported by the Canadian Armed Forces personnel to ensure your safety and security as you return to your community. These military personnel are working under the direction of the RCMP to allow the RCMP the flexibility to assist in your re-entry and focus on core policing duties.

The RCMP have been patrolling evacuated areas 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to detect and deter criminality. Anyone who has concerns upon return to their home, are encouraged to report any issues to the non-emergency line for the 100 Mile House RCMP at 250-395-2456. We appreciate your continued patience and cooperation as you return to respective homes and communities. Your safety remains a priority for us.

We understand evacuees from areas surrounding 100 Mile House are anxious to return home, however Evacuation Orders remain in place for portions of the district. To avoid congestion and allow local residents and business owners to have the opportunity to settle back in, please do not return to the area until Evacuation Orders have been rescinded in your communities.

Maps, resources and announcements relating to Evacuation Orders and Alerts can be found on the Cariboo Regional District website.

If you require assistance with your pets or livestock, SPCA continues to offer their assistance and can be reached at 1-855-622-7722.
