File # File 2017-2239

A prolific offender was among three arrested on July 12 by RCMP fire relief crews.

Police officers from the RCMP Tac Troop were patrolling July 12 within the 100 Mile House district as part of emergency relief efforts related to the forest fires.

A suspicious vehicle on Netherland Road at Highway 24 was stopped, and police officers noted apparent break and enter tools in the vehicle.

All three individuals in the vehicle were arrested for possession of break and enter tools and possession of a controlled substance. One of the suspects, a known prolific offender, remains in custody, while the other individuals were escorted out of the evacuation zone.

We’d like to take this opportunity to remind people that even when an area is evacuated, police are continuing their patrols – 24 hours a day, says Cpl. Madonna Saunderson. Within all communities impacted by fire evacuations and alerts, we encourage anyone who notices anything or any suspicious persons in their neighborhood to contact police.
